MY BASEBALL PICCS FOR THA DAY WERE 7-8 MAKING MY FINAL RECORD FOR THE WEEK 57-48-54%. MY FOOTBALL PICC IS 1-0 AS I TOOK WASHINGTON AND THE POINTS VS THE COLTS.

FOOTBALL
NFL COMMISSIONER ROGER GODDELL REINSTATED GREEN BAY QB BRETT FAVRE! NOW, THIS IS A BIG DEAL CONSIDERING FAVRE WAS CONSIDERING GREEN BAY’S OFFER TO STAY RETIRED. IT LOOKS LIKE GREEN BAY IS ONLY GONNA HAVE A FEW OPTIONS. THEY COULD RELEASE BRETT, WHICH HE WOULD THEN MORE THAN LIKELY SIGN WITH THE VIKINGS. THEY COULD TRADE BRETT TO THE JETS OR BUCCS. THE LAST OPTION IS TO KEEP FAVRE, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT BRETT DOESN’T EVEN WANT ANYMORE. HE HAS ALREADY SAID THAT HE WILL NOT BE THE BACCUP FOR AARON ROGERS. GREEN BAY HAS ALREADY SAID THAT FAVRE WILL NOT BE THE STARTER. REGARDLESS, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS CRAZY STORY HAS JUST ENTERED ITS CLIMAX RIGHT NOW AS A DECISION MUST BE MADE SOON WITH THE NFL PRESEASON 08 OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY WITH THE COLTS VS REDSKINS HALL OF FAME GAME.

BREAKING NEWS @ 5:39PM – GREEN BAY SAID THEY ARE OPEN TO A QB COMPETITION BETWEEN BRETT FAVRE AND AARON RODGERS!!! LOOKS LIKE FAVRE IS COMING BACC TO LEAD THE PACC! GOD DAMN, NOBODY CAN MAKE UP THEIR DAMN MIND IN GREEN BAY! FAVRE SHOWED UP TO GREEN BAY’S LATE CAMP.

IN THE FIRST PRESEASON GAME OF THE YEAR, THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS PLAYED AGAINST THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS IN THE ANNUAL HALL OF FAME GAME. THE REDSKINS WON 30-16. ROOKIE QB COLT BRENNAN LOOKED GREAT GOING 9/10 FOR 123 YARDS AND 2 TD!

THERE WAS A HUGE SLATE OF GAMES FOR THE DAY…IN THE AMERICAN LEAGUE, THE YANKEES BEAT THE ANGELS 14-9. IVAN RODRIGUEZ HIT HIS FIRST HOMERUN SINCE BEING TRADED TO THE YANKEES. IT WAS HIS 6TH HOMER OF THE YEAR AS HE WENT 2/3. DAMN, HE IS GETTING OLD. MINNESOTA BEAT CLEVELAND 6-2 TO TAKE OVER THE LEAD IN THE AL CENTRAL. MY WHITE SOX GOT THEIR ASS KICCED AGAIN BY THE SORRY ASS KANSAS CITY ROYALS 14-3. GOD DAMNIT! JOSE GUILLEN HIT ANOTHER HOMER FOR THE ROYALS (16). THE WHITE SOX HAVE NOW LOST THE LEAD IN THE AL CENTRAL! THERE WAS A BRAWL IN THIS GAME IN WHICH MIGUEL OLIVO, OZZIE GUILLEN, ZACK GREINKE, TREY HILLMAN, AND D.J. CARRASCO WAS TOSSED. DETROIT AND TAMPA BAY WENT TO EXTRA INNINGS AS TAMPA BAY PULLED IT OUT BY A RUN 6-5 AS CARLOS PENA WAS WALKED WITH THE BASES LOADED IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 10TH. MIGUEL CABRERA HIT HIS 20TH HOMER OF THE SEASON. BOSTON BEAT OAKLAND 5-2 AFTER A RAIN DELAY ALMOST STOPPED THE GAME. DICE-K PICCED UP HIS 12TH VICTORY TO BRING HIS SEASON RECORD TO 12-2. SEATTLE BEAT BALTIMORE 8-4. TEXAS BEAT TORONTO 8-4 BEHIND 2 HOME RUNS FROM GERALD LAIRD (5,6).
THE CURRENT PLAYOFF SITUATION IN THE A.L. LOOKS LIKE THIS…THE AL EAST LEADER IS STILL TAMPA BAY WITH A 3 GAME LEAD OVER BOSTON AND 5 ½ GAME LEAD OVER THE YANKEES. THE AL CENTRAL IS LED BY MINNESOTA, WHO HAS A ½ GAME LEAD OVER MY WHITE SOX. THE AL WEST IS STILL BEING DOMINATED BY THE LOS ANGELES ANGELS. THE WILDCARD RIGHT NOW IS IN BOSTON’S HANDS, WITH THE WHITE SOX AND YANKEES RIGHT BEHIND THEM.

IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE, WASHINGTON BEAT CINCINNATI 4-2 AS THEY TOOK IT TOO ROOKIE PITCHER JOHNNY QUETO (7-11). COLORADO BEAT FLORIDA 3-2. MATT HOLLIDAY HIT HIS 21ST HOMERUN OF THE YEAR. MIKE JACOBS HIT HIS 23RD HOMER OF THE YEAR FOR FLORIDA. ATLANTA BEAT MILWAUKEE 5-0. THEY ACTUALLY GOT THE WIN AGAINST MILWAUKEE ACE BEN SHEETS (10-5). HOUSTON BEAT THE METS 4-0. THE CUBS BEAT PITTSBURGH 8-5. ALFONSO SORIANO HIT HIS 19TH HOMERUN OF THE SEASON AS DID ARAMIS RAMIREZ. SAN DIEGO BEAT SAN FRANCISCO 4-1. GREG MADDUX PICCED UP HIS 5TH WIN OF THE SEASON TO BRING HIS RECORD TO 5-8. RUMOR IS NOW CIRCULATING THAT GREG MADDUX WILL SOON BE JOINING THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS IF THEY CAN COME TO TERMS ON A DEAL WITH SAN DIEGO ON A WAIVE AND TRADE. SPEAKING OF THE DODGERS, THEY BEAT ARIZONA AGAIN 9-3 BEHIND ANOTHER HOME RUN BY NEWCOMER MANNY RAMIREZ. IT WAS HIS 22ND HOME RUN AS HE WENT 4/5 WITH 2 RUNS AND 3 RBI’S AND OF COURSE THE HOMER. THE PHILLIES BEAT THE CARDINALS 5-4 BEHIND CHASE UTLEY’S 28TH HOME RUN. FOR ST. LOUIS, RYAN LUDWICK HIT HIS 27TH HOME RUN OF THE SEASON.
THE CURRENT PLAYOFF SITUATION IN THE N.L. LOOKS LIKE THIS…THE NL EAST LEADER IS PHILADELPHIA WITH A 2 ½ GAME LEAD OVER FLORIDA AND A 3 GAME LEAD OVER THE METS. THE NL CENTRAL IS STILL LED BY THE CUBS, WHO HOLD A 5 GAME LEAD OVER MILWAUKEE AND A 6 GAME LEAD OVER ST. LOUIS. FINALLY, THE NL WEST LEADER FOR NOW IS STILL ARIZONA, BUT THE LA DODGERS HAVE GOTTEN TO WITHIN A 1 GAME SINCE THE ACQUISITION OF MANNY RAMIREZ, WHO HAS BEEN ON A TEAR SINCE JOINING THE DODGERS. THE NL WILDCARD BELONGS TO MILWAUKEE WITH ST. LOUIS RIGHT BEHIND THEM.

BASKETBALL
THE OLYMPIC TEAM HAD THE DAY OFF…HOWEVER, IT WAS NEWS THAT THE PREVIOUS GAME AGAINST THE RUSSIANS, JASON KIDD WAS BENCHED FOR THE 2ND HALF. KOBE BRYANT SAID THAT IT WAS BECAUSE JASON KIDD IS “OLD”. GOD, KOBE BRYANT IS A BITCH! I HATE THAT MUTHA FUCCA WIT ALL THA HATE I COULD POSSIBLY HAVE FO A MUTHA FUCCA. I HATE KOBE BRYANT LIKE I HATE THE POLICE. PRO WRESTLING
THE SANDMAN’S SON, TYLER FULLINGTON WILL BE MAKING HIS IN-RING DEBUT FOR PWU ON 8/23.
THE WWE AND RIC FLAIR HAVE OFFICIALLY ENDED ALL CONTRACT OBLIGATIONS. RIC FLAIR IS NO LONGER A WWE EMPLOYEE.

NASCAR
I HATE NASCAR, BUT EHH…FUCC IT…CARL EDWARDS WON NASCAR’S SPRINT CUP RACE AT POCONO RACEWAY. THAT IS HIS FOURTH WIN OF THE SEASON. 2ND CAREER VICTORY AT THAT SPEEDWAY. TONY STEWART WAS 2ND IN THE FINAL STANDINGS OF THE RACE.

Aight, I finally got something fresh to talk about. Since Truth is not here today, I dont have to worry about his anti-sports rants as I type this blog. For some reason, that mutha fucca hates sports. He will "say" that he doesnt, but he criticized me once for stayin home to watch the Super Bowl...Yea, he did...lol.

Now, many of yall that know me know that Sports is my first love. It is above music and just about everything else on earth with the exception of my family and beer. I refuse to tell you which is more important between family and beer...lol

So, let me start off by letting you know who my favorite teams are in each of the sports that I watch and I will later talk about Sports Entertainment aka Pro Wrestling.

I am a huge basketball, football, and baseball fan...So, here are the teams...

BASEBALL-Chicago White Sox (I have been a White Sox fan since I started watching baseball. My first memories were watching Frank Thomas aka The Big Hurt put up MVP numbers every year. I got to see the White Sox win their first World Series since they FIXED the 1919 World Series a couple of years ago.

FOOTBALL- My favorite Pro Team is the New York Giants. I became a Giant's fan bacc in 1990 when they beat the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl. I have been following and rooting for them ever since. I have had the pleasure of watching them in 3 Super Bowls with them winning 2 of them. (1990,2000,2008) My favorite College Team has always been Notre Dame Fighting Irish. My Grandfather liked Notre Dame and got me hooked as a child. Im a huge Joe Montana fan, so it kinda happened from there.

BASKETBALL - My favorite pro team has ALWAYS been the Chicago Bulls since I was a child. Of course many of you know I had alot of successful years during the Michael Jordan years seeing 6 NBA Championships. Ever since his retirement, things have been kinda ugly for us TRUE BULLS FANS, but I believe they have the best YOUNG team in the league now. My favorite college basketball team kinda happened the same as my college football team. My liking of Joe Montana made me a Notre Dame fan in football and when it comes to college basketball, my liking of Michael Jordan as a kid led me to North Carolina. I have been a Carolina fan FOREVER and have seen many greats go through the program bringing me a few national championships.

PRO WRESTLING- Now, I know this isnt a sport, but it is sports entertainment and takes alot of athleticism to do. I have ALWAYS been a huge wrestling fan and watch it several times per week. I will also talk about pro wrestling alot, so you might as well get used to that shit too when I do a "sports blog". I have always liked "the bad guys" and therfore have recieved ALOT of heat when it comes to pro wrestling. (Especially from my brother/cousin, Shawn).

I pay attention to all sports, so occasionally I will speak of them...I do not really have favorites when it comes to the other sports however. Of course, I will always speak the truth and not always be biased to my own favorites.

NEWS UPDATE!!!!! KEN GRIFFFEY JR. was just traded to my Chicago White Sox before the trade deadline for a couple of NO BODYS!!!! YEAAA!!!! Griffey Jr was traded at 12:02pm to the White Sox for pitcher Nick Massett and Infielder Danny Richar!!! YEAA!!!!!! Looks like I got another World Series Title coming this year. Especially if Boston trades Manny Ramirez today like everyone believes they will!

Now, here are my team by team updates on my favorites...
Since Baseball is the only sport in the middle of the season, I will start there...

CHICAGO WHITE SOX
As of right now, out of the 162 game regular season, my White Sox are in 1st place in the AL Central Division with a record of 60-46 after 106 games played. With 56 games left, they lead the Minnesota Twins by 1 1/2 games. The Detroit Tigers are 3rd in that division at 5 1/2 games behind my White Sox. Of course, the media are always bashing manager Ozzie Guillen for his cursing on camera and crazy ways of dealing with players and the media. However, Ozzie once again has the White Sox looking like World Series contenders; especially with the addition of soon-to-be Hall of Famer, Ken Griffey Jr. The White Sox lineup has been pretty solid all season of course, as has their pitching staff. Their leading hitter this season at this point is Jermaine Dye with a .311 average. Newcomer Carlos Quinten pretty much leads in every other offensive category with 28 home runs, 83 runs batted in, and 75 runs scored. On the pitching side of things, Gavin Lloyd leads the team in wins with 11 so far this season. John Danks leads the ERA numbers with an ERA of 3.18 and Javier Vasquez leads in strikeouts with 130. It should be an interesting finish to this season leading up to September and of course October, when the World Series will be played. I predict that my White Sox WILL finish off with the division win and make the playoffs. My other predictions for baseball is as follows...I believe that in the AL East, the New York Yankees will come back from their current 5 games behind Tampa Bay to take over the division ONLY if Boston trades Manny Ramirez. If Boston KEEPS Ramirez, I believe Boston WILL win the division. Remember my ifs on that prediction. In the AL West, The Los Angeles Angels will run away with that division EASILY. So, that leaves the wildcard in the AL to picc...I believe that who ever DOES NOT win the division between the Yankees and RedSox in the AL East, will be the AL Wildcard. So, the playoffs in the AL will include Boston, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. I believe that the AL team that will make the World Series is...YOU GOT IT....MY CHICAGO WHITE SOX. Now, onto the National League...The NL East is a difficult decision to pick, but my picc is without a doubt the Philadelphia Phillies. Right now, they are only 1/2 game ahead of the New York Mets and 1 1/2 games ahead of the Florida Marlins. I believe that if Florida DOES get Manny Ramirez from Boston, then they will definatly have a shot. However, if they dont, they will fizzle out. So, Im goin with Philadelphia out of the East regardless of any trades. The NL Central will be won by the Chicago Cubs, who are currently 4 games ahead of both Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals. This is definatly the best division in baseball. I believe that the Cubs have the pitching to pull it out. Milwaukee has a shot with the addition of C.C. Sabathia, but I still think the Cubs are playing solid enough to pull it out, especially at home. The NL West is ugly, but I think that Arizona will pull it out in the end behind their pitching and Brandon Webb's Cy Young looking season. Right now, Arizona is only 1 Game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers, but I dont think that the Dodgers has what it takes to make the late run. I believe Milwaukee will win the NL Wildcard. I believe they will give the Cubs trouble in the Central, but lose it only to win the wildcard. So, my NL piccs are Chicago, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Arizona. I believe that the NL in the playoffs will be between Chicago and Milwaukee. My Picc? I believe that we will finally see a CHICAGO vs CHICAGO World Series...White Sox vs Cubs....My Picc? As much as I would love to say that My White Sox will beat the Cubs, I cant. It is definatly the Cubs turn since this is the 100th anniversary of their last World Series win...Thats right people...1908. They will win this year and never see it again until 2,108. Feel me?

CHICAGO BULLS
Ok, now since this is the off-season, not alot is going on right now. They do have a new Head Coach in former San Antonio Spur, Vinnie DelNegro. That is an odd choice for coach since he has never been a head coach and Avery Johnson was still out there. However, I can give it a chance since I know how Vinnie was as a player. They had the 1st picc in the NBA Draft and they selected Point Guard, Derricc Rose from Memphis. Rose was SOLID in college, but was horrible in the Bulls's Summer League games. I am extrememly upset that Michael Beasley was passed on for this DECENT POINT GUARD. Beasley is gonna be GREAT. Rose is just gonna be decent. The Bulls let baccup point guard Chris Duhon sign with the New York Kniccs this summer and I have to say that I am ok with that choice. However, it looks to me like Derricc Rose will be his BACCUP replacement since I dont think he's good enough to start. Next, they re-signed forward, Luol Deng. VERY GOOD CHOICE. Im glad they didnt let him go, especially since now it is rumored that Ben Gordon may be leaving to go play in Europe. By the way, I PRAY that Gordon does not go play in Europe. I need him with the Bulls. Nothing else is really going on at this point and the season doesnt open for a while. My prediction is that my Bulls WILL make the playoffs next season and atleast make it to the 2nd round. If not, it just once again shows that Bulls management makes more mistakes than Brittany Spears.

Now, onto Football...My Giants have not had the best offseason after this last Super Bowl win...They did sign a solid baccup QB in David Carr and solid LB Danny Clark. They lost soon-to-be Hall of Famer, Michael Strahan to retirement. They then traded Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans. Not to mention a few more losses from the defensive side of thangs and the ongoing contract issues with Plaxico Burress. Things look very much like they are in turmoil to start this season. But then again, look at how the beginning of last season looked? My prediction? ANOTHER MUTHA FUCCIN SUPER BOWL! YEA!

They begin their Pre-Season on 8/7/08 at the Detroit Lions!
