WWE Raw House Show Results

- 8/23/08Location: New York City, New York (Madison Square Garden)
- Tony Chimel did the announcing instead of Lilian Garcia and welcomed everybody to "the world's most famous arena".
- National anthem was played.
- First match was William Regal vs Primo Colon. Nice little match. Decent heat towards Regal. No reaction to Colon since nobody knew who he was since he hasn't debuted on TV yet. Colon wins with a back slide.
- Next, Kelly Kelly was featured doing a trivia segment in the crowd. She asked a random fan where Wrestlemania was held this year. Naturally the fan got the question right, and was given two front row tickets.
- The next match was Lance Cade vs D-Lo Brown. Nice pop for D-Lo, minor heat for Cade. Cade wins with his new sit-out spinebuster finisher.
- Next, Kelly Kelly picked a random fan to be a guest manager for a match later that night.
- The next match was Mickie James vs Beth Phoenix for the Women's championship. Huge pop for Mickie. Beth wins with her double arm chicken wing facebuster finisher.
- The fan turned out to be the manager for Jamie Noble in the next match who faced Snitsky. Noble wins surprisingly making Snitsky submit to a guillotine choke/body scissors combo.
- Next match was for the World Tag Team Championship pitting Rhodes and DiBiase vs Cryme Tyme. Team Priceless made a speech before the match to get some heat. Rhodes and DiBiase win to retain the titles.
- Very brief intermission with a couple of video packages being shown (just off the top of my head, the two I can remember were a Wrestlemania highlights video, and Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho storyline video).
- The next match was Santino Marella vs Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship. Santino did a very funny bit with Beth Phoenix (who was his valet) before the match started. Santino wins via Beth Phoenix interference combined with a roll up.
- Chris Jericho and Kane vs John Cena and Batista. Jericho came out first and made a speech about Shawn Michaels and how his career was over. Next Kane came out to a mixed reaction of boo's and cheers. Still don't think the fans understand that Kane is a heel now. Next, when I'm telling you the micro-second Cena's music came on, the loudest pop I have ever heard filled the garden. Man, is Cena over in New York. When Batista came out, I couldn't tell if he also got a loud pop, or if it was left over from Cena's. The entire match was Jericho and Kane beating the crap out of Batista. Then the last minute of the match Batista gets the tag to Cena, Cena goes buckwild, and ultimately Cena and Batista win with a Cena FU on Kane.
- The second and final main event was CM Punk vs JBL for the World Heavyweight Championship inside of a steel cage. JBL comes out to massive amounts of heat and Punk to a huge pop. CM Punk wins to retain the title.
= Another interesting note is that normally WWE does not use pyro at all at house shows, but the lone exception is when they do house shows at MSG. They brought what could best be called "portable pyro" which was placed in ring during entrances then immediately removed before the match started. The intro to the show, Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, Kane, and Cena/Batista together had pyro in their entrances. Overall, a decent show. Some boring moments (even got a few "boring" chants), but good none-the-less.
