Toronto 5-2. Minnesota def. Kansas City 4-1. Joe Nathan got his 31st save for the Twins. My WHITE SOX beat Boston 5-3. Troy Percival got his 25th save and James Sheilds got his 10th win (10-7). In the AL Playoff Picture, In the AL East, Tampa Bay still holds a 3 ½ game lead over Boston and a 6 ½ game lead over the Yankees. In the AL Central, MY WHITE SOX cling to a ½ game lead over Minnesota. In the AL West, The LA Angels still dominate the division with a 13 game lead over Texas. Boston holds the wild card as we speak with Minnesota right behind them. The BEST RECORD in the AL is the LOS ANGELES ANGELS 72-43. The WORST RECORD in the AL is the SEATTLE MARINERS 45-71.
In the National League, The Cubs def. St. Louis 3-2. Jim Edmonds hit 2 homers (14,15) for the Cubs. The Mets def. Florida 3-0. Carlos Delgado hit a homer (24), as did David Wright (22) for the Mets. Houston def. Cincinnati 9-5. Carlos Lee hit his 28th homer of the season. Pittsburgh def. Philadelphia 2-0. YEA, I DID PICC THAT UPSET FOR TODAY! IM THA SHIT! Milwaukee def. Washington 5-0. God damn, CC Sabathia is AMAZING sometimes. He is 6-0 since becoming a Brewer and 12-8 overall. He pitched a complete game 5 hitter and had 9 strikeouts. WOW. Mike Cameron hit his 18th homer for Milwaukee. Colorado def. San Diego 6-3. Atlanta upset Arizona 11-6. YEA, I PICCED this one too. Chipper Jones hit his 19th homerun of the year. Finally, the Dodgers def. San Francisco 6-2 in Brad Penny’s return to the mound (6-9). In the NL Playoff Picture, In the NL East, The Phillies have a 1 game lead over the Mets and only a 1 ½ game lead over the Marlins. No doubt about it that the NL East is the most competitive in the majors. In the NL Central, The Cubs hold a 5 game lead over Milwaukee. Arizona’s lead in the NL West over the Dodgers has been reduced to only ½ game. Since Acquiring Manny Ramirez, The Dodgers have stepped up and look to be soon taking over the division. Milwaukee currently holds possession of the NL wild card, with St. Louis still right behind them. The BEST RECORD in the NL is the CHICAGO CUBS 70-46. The WORST RECORD in the NL is a tie between the WASHINGTON NATIONALS and the SAN DIEGO PADRES 44-72.
PRO WRESTLING
WWE releases Shannon Moore. Mick Foley says that when his contract expires on September 1st, he will not be re-signed. The WWE also announced the releases of Nunzio, James Curtis, Domino, Big Daddy V, and Referee Nick Patrick. WOW. I already gave the Smaccdown taping results for tonight, so I feel no need to post them again.
I do wanna give a shout out to Mike Siciliano. I read his columns on pro wrestling everytime he publishes one. I even frequent his blog. He is a hell of a writer and someone I respect when it comes to his pro wrestling knowledge. Keep up tha good work Mike.
